Letter from the President:
For the past 26 years, Beat Bama Food Drive has been serving the Auburn community and fighting food insecurity in the state of Alabama. Our friendly competition with the University of Alabama’s Beat Auburn Beat Hunger raises hundreds of thousands of pounds of food each year. I love how this cause can bring the whole state together to give a helping hand to those in need.
The Auburn Creed says, “I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.” Through Beat Bama Food Drive, I have seen the Auburn spirit and compassion for others. It has been amazing to see how much support the Auburn and Opelika communities give us. This has really helped show me that the Auburn family spreads far beyond our campus and that we should help all members of the Auburn family.
This community has been the human touch for so many and I am so grateful to watch it happen. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve and even more thankful for the community that it is for.
- Taylor Pierce, Beat Bama Food Drive President, 2020
